Is my data secure?

The information that is captured may also be used for data analysis and research purposes anonymously, with no usage of confidential or identifiable personal information. Do you recommend laptops be used by directors?

Yes. We recommend using a laptop during the check in phase for the category director. A mobile device will work very well as well, but in our experience as things come up such as change of jerseys, marked absent, etc a laptop allows the director to make these changes much faster.

What kind of device can I access the app from?

Any mobile device that has access to the internet through wifi or data package! We do recommend using google chrome for a more robust platform. Either mobile phones or tablets will work on our platform.

Does your organization do any development camps or private skills sessions for any sports?

No. We do not do any skill or conditioning camps as we strongly believe in a fully neutral and impartial process! We have worked with other organizations that have used camp providers in the past and they have found that an unconscious bias occurs and players can be unfortunately looked at favorably because they have attended one of the development schools or camps. We do offer combine camps for players to be evaluated & Scouted by independent teams from Junior/pro leagues from all different sports!

Complete Solution

What does the standard feedback give me? (if my organization subscribes to feedback)

If your organization subscribes to the feedback, you will receive as part of the package individual game/schedule rank and individual score for that game/schedule only. No total sums will be given!

What does my rank mean?

The rank is generated by the scores of the independent evaluators.  For position specific categories, the rank is for that position only and not all positions for that specific game/schedule only.  This is a rank amongst the peers on the specific game/schedule only.

What does my score mean?

The score is generated from the independent scores from the evaluators as a mean to generate a rank. For team selection purposes, the rank is the most important statistic to place athletes on the appropriate teams based on how they present in front of the independent evaluators.

Why does my rank change?

The rank may change throughout the process if players were absent and an average score was taken for that player and could impact the rank. This is only done if a player was deemed as an excused absence from the organizations policies and procedures. All non-excusable absences will be marked as a zero based on the direction from the organization!

Why don't I know when my next skate is?

Throughout the evaluation process there is going to be movement of players. We recommend making yourself available for all schedules which would have been provided by your organization. All players come into the process on an equal playing field therefore we use different schedules to place players in the appropriate schedules based on how they perform in front of the evaluators. Player schedules are dynamic throughout the process and may change within a day’s notice.

If my child misses a skate, will it impact their score?

We do recommend attending every schedule your child is asked to show up to. If your organization deems your absence as excusable, you may receive an average for that schedule. If the organization deems your absence as un-excusable then you may receive a zero.

If my child is a defensive player, will it impact their score?

Every athlete is assessed/evaluated based on their individual skills and team play throughout the process. Our expert evaluators will evaluate the players regardless of their type of play and will not impact their type of game they play.

I believe my child is in the wrong group!

Our tagline – Trust the process! With over 25 years of experience, we have learned that data points collected over duration of time will have players placed in the appropriate group based on how they played in front of us. We have learned that you need a minimum of 64 subjective data points collected for a player and a minimum of 96 data points collected for a goaltender. For most organizations, we recommend having 4 evaluators with 4 categories evaluated (6 for goaltenders) for a minimum of 4 schedules. Your child may be in the wrong group early in the process but over the course of more schedules and more data points collected we believe we will have the players in the correct group for team selection purposes.

What is the max score my child can get?

Players – We recommend having 4 categories, with 4 evaluators and 4 schedules. The max score is 144 for players as our recommend scale is a 1-9. For goaltenders we recommend having 6 categories, with 4 evaluators for 4 schedules with a scale of 1-9, therefore the maximum score for each schedule would be 216.

What does the standard feedback give me? (if my organization subscribes to feedback)

The standard feedback should your organization subscribe to it will give parents access to the score and the rank for that schedule only. There are no comments provided or any other additional data points provided for the basic package. No sum scores for the overall selection/tryout period will be given to parents.

What does the optional extra player insights give me?

The optional player insights portal will give parents access to the category breakdown of where the player ranks for each individual category, player insight badges, and comments for the players. This program is 100% optional and is available for an extra fee. The amount of comments will change for each schedule throughout the process. The comments will be what the player does well and opportunities of what the player can work on but will change based on how the player performs in front of the independent evaluators. Again, some schedules, you may receive more or less then the previous schedule and sometimes may only have positive comments or opportunities of improvement for the player to work on. Player insights badges WILL change throughout the process as the overall rank will change throughout the process.

If I want the additional optional player insights, do I have to purchase another optional player insights if my child goes from rep to house tryouts?

If a player is at the rep level for one tryout and goes to another selection such as a house tryout, the player is starting fresh and the players insights will change and should you wish as 100% optional, you can subscribe to another player insights portal.
